Simple Bit Labs was founded in 2024 by Dan McGee to tackle software problems that haven’t received enough attention from the big players.

We believe there is a need for software products of all sizes and shapes. There are many smaller-scale problems that haven’t been the primary focus of highly capitalized startups, and we are exploring ways to solve them.

Our first product, Mobility Bot, helps you stay aware of transit delays by monitoring service alerts for various transit agencies and notifying you based on your preferred schedule.

We also see a growing need to create software that simplifies the day to day development, debugging, testing, and operation of your software. Investments in software operations, monitoring, and observability are essential in keeping a technology organization agile.

Dan has nearly twenty years of experience in the software world. He has contributed to countless open source projects, including a long stint as a developer at Arch Linux. He’s worked at numerous technology startups and small businesses, focusing on scaling and performance of both teams and technology.
